Hot Chia Seed Berry Breakfast Bowl

Sometimes chia seeds they can be really gunky…especially when cold. But when they’re warm they’re a totally different animal!

What can this recipe give you?

Chia seeds contain high levels of omega 3 and are a good source of good fats which are essential for hormone function. We tend to be quite high in our omega 6’s and 9’s but seeing as though 3’s are usually found in bone marrow, fish, seaweed, brains…all the things we USED to eat when we were cave men. Now that we are not so much cave men, we don’t tend to eat these sorts of foods. Which means our ratio of Omega 6/9 to 3’s is around 12:1. Ideal ratios are 2:1 or 3:1. Quite a way off then! One omega is a dilator and the other a constrictor, so basically they do the opposite. We need balance. Better balance means that our body CAN do what we wish of it…

So let’s give it a helping hand on the other downtime when we aren’t out during party season. Balance is possible, and it doesn’t mean being zen all the time either. If you want to read more about managing wine and weight loss the click here.
