How can Matcha benefit you? (5 Recipes Included!)

Wherever you look there is a new superfood being endorsed. With our diets, we sometimes jump ahead of ourselves adding in superfoods and revved up juices without working on the basics first.

‘Working on the basics’ sounds boring, things like portion size, a balance of fats, protein and carbs, as well as the most boring one of all which is consistency, meaning we are being consistent day in day out with the plan or program you are following.

So, how is matcha different to other superfoods and how can it help you right now?

Matcha can be something that you add into your basic diet which isn’t such a basic food, it’s a superfood. It’s high in antioxidants especially catechin, which is one of the most powerful antioxidants you can find. It can help to boost mood and concentration, supports calm and the immune system (which you need) and most of you will like the last named benefit which is it contains caffeine!

Our lives are not slowing down and for some of us we have become a little reliant on coffee or a caffeinated drink source. Without making you go cold turkey, matcha green tea is a fantastic swap alternative to coffee. No, I am not saying cut coffee out all together, but, decreasing the amount of coffee you drink, can help energy, sleep, mood, concentration, and help with fat loss and weight management. If you want to know more about why this happens then there is a blog on why diets always seem to ask you to decrease your coffee?

So, if you’re anything like me, I love coffee, the taste, smell, and the kick you get from it, then Matcha green tea can be an acquired taste you have to slowly get used to. Coffee is strong, smooth, bold, and Matcha green tea can be all of these things, but in a slightly different zone of taste. Below here are my top 5 match recipes that I swap out with coffee, I don’t find them gross, and I especially like the Matcha frothy hot chocolate mid morning when I am craving energy or sweet stuff! I still have one small coffee a day (when I say small it’s basically espresso with milk!) but it gives me what I want without damaging my energy or long term goals, which is what a program should be able to give you. Limited feeling of restriction, but all the benefits of achieving your goals.

So, tips are, get the basics of nutrition, don’t add in crazy expensive superfoods unless you’ve grasped the basics, and been able to stick to it consistently. Do a coffee swap with Matcha Green tea at least once a day. You will feel and see differences by simply doing these steps. It’s not difficult, but because of the amount of options, and information thrown around, it can become confusing, which is why we created the BeBikini program for women. An incredibly supportive, educational, and enjoyable 30 day program  which will give you everything you need to progress after the 30 days is over. Read more about this here.
